Meet Dr. Marla Chavez, a proud Florida native, born and raised in Miami. Dr. Chavez embarked on her journey in healthcare at the University of Central Florida, where she delved into Health Sciences. Her passion for dentistry led her to the LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, FL, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Dr. Vanessa Leon
From the bustling city of Bogota, Colombia to the sunny shores of Miami and finally putting down roots in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Vanessa Leon's journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Although she was born into a family full of dentists, she was never pushed towards this path but found her calling naturally.
In fact, she initially set out with a major in Business Administration, but her first semester quickly revealed that it wasn't her cup of tea. It was during this period that she developed an interest in dentistry. She decided to try her hand at being a dental assistant, and instantly knew that the world of dentistry was where she belonged.
Dr. Leon completed her undergraduate studies at the renowned University of Central Florida with a major in Biology before earning her doctorate from Howard University College of Dentistry.
The decision to start her own practice came when both she and her father felt it was time for new chapters; him slowing down his pace while giving Dr. Leon an opportunity for ownership.
As a dentist, what brings joy to Dr. Leon is twofold - crafting confident smiles for patients and dispelling their fear about dentistry procedures.
Dr. Leon aspires to be known not just for transforming smiles through cosmetic work, but also for her compassionate and gentle approach. Her practice is a testament to her dedication to these values and the satisfaction of her patients is the ultimate proof of their effectiveness.
When not creating beautiful smiles or further refining her dental skills, you'll find Dr. Leon unwinding with yoga or cherishing quality time with family.
Dr. Marla Chavez
Meet Dr. Marla Chavez, a proud Florida native, born and raised in Miami. Dr. Chavez embarked on her journey in healthcare at the University of Central Florida, where she delved into Health Sciences. Driven by a fusion of art and science, Dr. Chavez discovered her true calling in dentistry, recognizing how these seemingly different worlds harmonize beautifully. She explored her artistic skills in high school, through ceramics and active involvement in art club, revealing her aptitude for creating and working with her hands. This passion for art has translated to her love for dentistry.
Starting from a young age, service has always been at the core of Dr. Chavez's spirit. Seeing the smiles of those she helps, meets, or cares about reminds her of the "why" in everything she does. For Dr. Chavez, the essence of dentistry lies in the personal connections made with her patients. Her favorite part of working alongside patients is having that one-on-one interaction with the patient while earning and building their trust along the way.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Chavez enjoys an active lifestyle and the outdoors with her beloved dogs, Echo and Ella. She cherishes moments spent with loved ones and explores new horizons through travel.

Meet Nixie, our exceptional office manager who became an integral part of our team in December 2021. With a remarkable 16 years of experience in the dental field, Nixie brings a wealth of expertise to our practice. Her dedication to ensuring outstanding customer service plays a pivotal role, as she guides patients seamlessly through every step of their treatment journey.
Beyond the office, Nixie finds joy in moments spent with her husband, three daughters, and her beloved dog. An avid traveler, she delights in exploring new destinations and cherishes the simple pleasures of watching the sunset at the beach.
Meet Will, a valued member of our team for over four years, bringing a dedicated career in dentistry spanning more than 23 years! Originally from Venezuela, Will finds immense joy in quality time with his children and weekends spent at the beach. When away from Lake Underhill Dental Studio, Will's passion for culinary exploration and travel takes center stage, as he delights in trying new and diverse food and beverages from around the world.
Meet Janet, who joined our team in July 2020 with a passion for ensuring patients' comfort and enhancing their dental experience. Coming from California, where she pursued her education, Janet now calls Florida home, residing there with her husband and dog. At the heart of her enjoyment working here is the harmonious team environment and the joy of being surrounded by happy patients every day.
Beyond the office, Janet keeps herself busy with a variety of hobbies. She engages in crafting with resin, unleashing creativity with her Cricut machine, indulging in reading, perfecting her nail art skills, and exploring new places that spark her curiosity.
Meet Destiny, a valuable addition to Lake Underhill Dental Studio since May 2021. She takes pride in being part of a collaborative team that fosters learning and synergy. Destiny is dedicated to ensuring the success of our office by providing exceptional customer service to our patients and actively contributing to the warm, familial atmosphere that sets us apart.
Outside of her professional life, Destiny finds joy in various hobbies, including shopping for unique finds, savoring delicious meals, and exploring new destinations through travel. Her vibrant personality and commitment to excellence make her an integral part of our dental family.
Meet Nickolle, our dedicated dental assistant who has been an integral part of our office since May 2018. Holding a bachelor's degree in health science with clinical administration, Nickolle initially earned her associates in dental assisting with expanded functions from the University of Puerto Rico, medical science campus in 2014. She takes pride in the seamless teamwork at our office and finds fulfillment in ensuring our patients feel at ease during their dental visits.
Outside the dental arena, Nickolle embraces her creative side and enjoys spending her free time pampering herself by doing her nails. Additionally, she delights in the culinary arts, baking up delicious treats, and cherishes quality time spent with her husband while exploring various activities.
Meet Dunia, our skilled team member hailing originally from Cuba. With a journey in dentistry that began in 2011, she brings a wealth of experience to Lake Underhill Dental Studio, having joined us in December 2022 after relocating to Florida in May of the same year. Dunia's passion for dentistry is fueled by the thrill of "learning something new every day."
Outside the dental realm, Dunia dedicates her off time to self-improvement. She's a fitness enthusiast, frequently hitting the gym to stay active and healthy. Additionally, she is committed to enhancing her language skills, actively engaging in the process of learning more English. Dunia's dedication to continuous learning and personal growth makes her a valuable asset to our team.
